Wine tasting at Uva Mira in South Africa

Visit South Africa for a week-long wine tasting trip. WineWeb and the Travel Broker have organised a trip to the award-winning Uva Mira winery in the beautiful Capetown region of South Africa. Uva Mira won the twin accolades of Best South African Winemaker and Best Chardonnay in the world at the London International wine & Spirits Fair in 2006.

The Uva Mira vineyards are high in the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains. You'll get stunning 360-degree views of Capetown, Table Mountain, Robben Island and the Indian and Atlantic oceans.

Award-winning winemaker Matthew Van Heerdon will spill the secrets of his special wine-making skills. And our hostess will be Denise Weedon, widow of one of South Africa's past mining magnates and owner of the fabulous property you'll be staying in.

And we've other friends we'd like you to meet. Because of our years in the wine industry, WineWeb has exclusive access to wineries not usually open to the public. In the wonderful atmosphere of these private vineyards, you'll sample fine food with wines that complement and enhance every mouthful. You'll acquire an in-depth knowledge of the excellent local wines of the area.

But it's not all about the wine. We want you to really enjoy the local area, so we'll organise daily trips and some leisure activities to suit everyone.
